Our Christian Drug Rehab explains Alcohol Side Effects
|
Most don’t know the many dangers of drinking alcohol. The physical signs of alcoholism from heavy alcohol use are endless; which is anxiety, violence, Delirium Tremens, liver failure and so on.
Alcohol and your brain simply do not mix! The effects of alcohol are both fatally short and long term! Across the nation, binge drinking at Universities and colleges is on the rise. We get phone calls from worried parents wanting to know all about alcohol. They have questions such as: What drinking too much alcohol symptoms to watch for? What are the symptoms of drinking too much or the symptoms of too much alcohol? Are there symptoms of heavy drinking? Are there any physical symptoms of alcoholism? If you are drinking too much alcohol symptoms can vary from person to person, male to female. |
Most symptoms and side effects of alcohol, how alcohol affects the body, and how alcohol and the brain work are fairly general across heavy drinkers. Most college age kids have heard about the long term effects of alcohol but hardly anyone hears about the short term effects of alcohol!
There are some serious short term effects of alcohol. It is almost like alcohol and brain damage go hand in hand, because of the alcohol effects on the body. Most college kids think drinking is a rite of passage. Unfortunately, a lot of adults feel the same way. If they knew what the real alcohol side effects are they would be much less cavalier about drinking by young adults.
Our brains do not finish “growing” until we are around 25 years of age. A college age student, usually between the ages of 18 and 21 are not even close to being “done growing”! At a young age, alcoholism and the brain can create a lifetime of issues and problems and permanent damage.
Research shows there is a direct correlation between alcohol and liver damage, anxiety and alcohol, and alcohol and violence. That’s with casual or binge use. This is not even the effects on the body and mind that long term drinking to excess can cause!
At our Christian Recovery Centers, we are here to listen and help! Are you calling about your college age child? Are you calling about yourself? We have caring and compassionate staff on hand who understand and can speak your child’s “language”. We understand the developmental stages and where your child or you, are at. We can work with your school to make sure they understand that this is a medical issue and we can help you make arrangements to make up assignments or officially withdraw from classes so they do not count against your grades.
Treating you or your child’s alcohol issues now, will prevent a lifetime of misery, we promise! While having a college education is a great thing, we feel that graduating from our treatment program may be even greater.
