Our Christian Drug and Alcohol Rehab provides access to Al Anon meetings so you can learn the 12 Steps of codependency and finally set healthy boundaries!

Why should I learn the al anon 12 steps or attend al anon family groups? What good will it do my family member who is an addict for me to go to al anon meetings and learn the 12 steps of codependency? This is the addict’s problem right? WRONG! In the al anon steps it will clearly show you how addiction is a family issue!

In the codependency 12 steps, and within the alanon 12 steps, you will learn how addiction has its roots in the family dynamics. That is not to say the family is to blame for an addict’s choice. They and they alone are responsible for their behaviors and actions. The 12 steps alanon has are the exact same ones as AA or NA basically, just as the codependency anonymous 12 steps are basically the same. The difference is what those steps focus on.
A family is like a dance. Everyone has their parts and everyone has their steps. Not that all dances are the same. Some are very healthy and while everyone has their steps, they are independent from one another, so that if one person missteps and falls no one else falls with them and those standing are able to help the fallen dancer up. In a family where there is addiction, often the family members are enmeshed with each other. If someone makes a misstep, all dancers fall instead of just one.

No one can help anyone up. They may eventually scramble up but the dance is irrevocably damaged and even though they will try and go on, the dance is now awkward and unhealthy. In Al Anon, you will learn how to let others in your family stand on their own. You will learn you cannot love someone to health, but you can love them to death! We have seen parents who let their children use drugs or alcohol in the house (some as young as 12!) because that way they can “keep an eye on things”. This is the craziness of co-dependency.

These are the thinking errors that lead to whole families falling along with the addict. Whole families spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and insurance getting their loved one’s help, only to bring them right back into the same unhealthy household. These are the families that just don’t understand why the Christian rehabs won’t or don’t work.

Here at our Christian Drug and Alcohol Recovery we have helped dozens and dozens of families re-work how they work!  We follow the same guidelines in our family groups as Al Anon does in their groups and meetings. We can help you help yourself, which means you will be able to help your family set boundaries, achieve goals, and instead of passively encouraging the addict, get them the help they so desperately need. If you follow the steps, they will lead you home!

We Love Our Clients & They Love Us!

“I wanted a quality Christian rehab program. That was important to me. I was coming off of alcohol really bad and wanted to know that others could actually help me. Their Christian Drug  Recovery Center was there for me and put me in touch with just the right support group. When I was feeling better, I attended this group and have been going ever since!  -Abagail, age 27
